How to measure for the perfect fit

The right belt size and fit will do you wonders in both the comfort and style department. So no more slipping down, tightness, and movement restrictions, and more of a neat, tidy look – a good fit in every sense of the word. Here’s where the right size comes in, and these are some basic rules to get the right measurements.

1. Use a measuring tape: Grab a flexible measuring tape and wrap it around your waist, positioning it where you typically wear your belt. Make sure the tape is snug but not tight, and note your measurements.

2. Choose your belt size: Belt sizes typically correspond to your waist measurement. However, going for a size 5-7 cm larger is ideal for optimal comfort. You can also make sure your belt has adjustable features, such as multiple belt holes, so you can fine-tune the fit.

3. Determine your ideal length: There is approximately 15 cm between the middle hole and the tip of the belt – this distance is then added to the total length of the belt. This should be your ideal fit. You can also elevate your look with a custom fit by asking your cobbler to add extra holes for the perfect size.

The casual belt

Casual belts have an easy, comfortable feel in fit and design. If you’re looking for a more casual option you can opt for a wider belt, with a more rugged leather or fabric finish, and a bigger buckle. It’s a go-to choice if you want something easy to wear to the office or for fun and celebratory events. The perfect pairings for a casual belt? A smart casual suit or even your favourite pair of jeans or chinos. It strikes the perfect balance between laid-back charm and a polished look.
