This canvas shoe with vulcanised rubber soles is still their signature model and takes its name from a basilica overlooking the city of Turin. It quickly grew popular as a sportwear item and became a synonym for the company itself, which was officially rebranded in the mid-30s. Through the years this Italian mark faced countless ups and downs, hitting rock-bottom in 2001. Acquired by Basic Net and sold across America by Steve Madden, it has risen again as one of the most popular fashion items, gaining the likes of models, actors but especially members of the British royal family.
